Google ahead of Yahoo! by just 4% as best Internet Brand

Doug Caverly on WebProNews cites a JupiterResearch study that found that Google and Yahoo! are the top online Brands.

• Google is the favorite brand for 36% of people. Men prefer Google.
• Yahoo! follows 2nd lagging Google by just 4%. Women prefer Yahoo!
• MySpace reached near parity with Google and Yahoo! amongst younger users

Overall 3rd place is Amazon, followed by eBay and MySpace according to SearchEngineLand's notes of the JupiterResearch Report (paid).

The Search share lead of Google and blockbuster revenue it generates makes it quite a media/blogosphere darling. However just the 4% lead of Google over Yahoo! makes it seem that consumers haven't been swayed by purely Search and Monetization based media generated buzz.
