
15 months after completing its acquisition of Macromedia, Adobe today announced the new Creative Suite 3 that integrates products from the two companies.
There are essentially 4 new suites from Adobe:
- CS 3 Design Edition -- This comes in 2 variants Premium & Standard and is geared toward Print/Web Publishing. CS 3 Design Premium cost $ 1799.
- CS 3 Web Edition -- This comes in 2 variants Premium & Standard and is geared toward Web Publishing. CS 3 Web Premium costs $ 1599.
- CS 3 Production Edition -- This comes only in a Premium Variant and is useful for Multimedia Production (Video, Audio, Animation) Creative work. CS 3 Production costs $ 1699.
- Master Collection -- This is a suite having Design, Web, and Multimedia Production tools from the first 3 suites. Master Collection costs $ 2499.
Adobe realises that choosing from its wide array of products is difficult therefore it has supplied a Product Selector in Flash format.
Both Design Premium and Web Premium have Photoshop, Flash, Acrobat, and Illustrator. Design Premium edition has InDesign but not Fireworks. Web Premium does not have InDesign but has Fireworks & Contribute.
