Infosys’s Narayan Murthy to join Unilever Board
It seems the world cannot have enough of Infosys's founder and ex-chairman Naryan Murthy. Also popularly known as NRN, Naryan Murthy is set to join the board of Europe based FMCG giant Unilever's board as a non-executive member.
NRN stepped down as the Chairman of Infosys on August 20, 2006. He continues with Infosys in the position of Chief Mentor.
India truly is shining beyond a booming economy. Indians are joining ranks of top corporate positions world-wide. At last it seems the world is recognizing Indian talent not just in technology positions but in executive and leadership positions.
Indra Nooyi who last year became the CEO of PepsiCo also got elected to be the Chairman (chairwoman?) of the Board effective May 1, 2007 when the current chairman Steven S Reinemund retires. (Indra Nooyi completed her Management education at IIM Kolkatta in India.)
Ratan Tata recently fought off the Brazilian battle for UK based Corus takeover and Tata Steel became the second Indian company to join the ranks of world's Top 5 steel makers. The first position is held by Laxmi Mittal's Steel Group.
