Apple will not have to change its device branding strategy due to the trademark fued with Cisco over the brand name "iPhone".
Since the launch of iMacs, Apple's computers, software and devices have continued the tradition of having an "i" added in the name. iPods, iLife, iPhoto, iWeb, iDVD -- all carried the branding tradition of iMacs.
However, Cisco owns the iPhone brand name. It acquired this name when it purchased InfoGear in 1996. Cisco sells phones that place calls over an internet connection (instead of a telephone network) under the brand name of iPhone.
Both Cisco and Apple have agreed to share the rights over iPhone branding.
