Continued from my previous post: Does Bangalore "Need" a name change? and Demented Politicians bent upon destroying Brand Bangalore.
The Indian IT industry has responded in polite frustration, trying to sound friendly to "locals" and local politicans with big egos.
HP GlobalSoft managing director Som Mittal:
Though a change of name overnight may create some confusion in the beginning, we may have no choice but start using the official one to rebuild the brand all over again
According to National Association of Software and Service Companies president Kiran Karnik:
Though there may be some reluctance initially, we have to respect the sentiments of the local people and abide by what the government decides
Who does Brand Bangalore belong to? The locals? Who built Brand Bangalore? The "locals"? No! No No!! NO NO NO!!!
It was the hard working middle class Indians working in the IT industry. Please mark my italicization of the word Indians. It was not a specific Indian from a specific state that built Brand Bangalore -- it was a common Indian working hard to make a living and make a mark in this world. But of course, the politicans who get votes from locals can create a mindless "movement" about the "feelings" of locals being suppressed if Bangalore does not get renamed as Bengaluru. Mahatama Gandhi started the Quit India movement, I think it is time for Indians to tell our demented corrupt sick politicians to "Quit India."

Yet another arrogant Software engineer who thinks his Industry built bangalore.
