Microsoft Corp's 8 Flavors of Vista

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) plans to release Vista in 8 flavors:

  1. Starter: For new PCs in emerging markets. Runs on 32-bit machines.
  2. Home Basic: Compares with Win XP Home
  3. Home Premium: Has Media Center
  4. Business: Compares with Win XP Professional. Has tools for small businesses
  5. Enterprise: Available only in Volume Licences.
  6. Ultima: has the best of Home Premium and Enterprise.

7 and 8) There will be 2 special "N" versions of "Home Basic" and "Business" for Europe without Windows Media Player
